Redundancy

If you have been made redundant and have paid taxes on your redundancy payment, you may be entitled to a refund on a portion of the tax paid. Redundancy payments can be divided into 3 portions:
  • Statutory Redundancy — tax free element of a redundancy payment that everyone is entitled to.
  • Revenue Exempt — this is an additional amount that is allowable tax free from the revenue.
  • Taxable Amount — this is any remaining portion of a redundancy payment that is liable to tax. However at the end of the year there may be additional top slicing relief available on this amount.
If you would like an accountant to check if you are due any refunds request a call back and remember we have a "no refund no fee" policy.
